Welcome!

This blog is all about finding my voice and finding my way. I'll be sharing the fruits of my explorations through essays and artwork, by asking questions and noting points of interest along the way.
I won't be posting the day-to-day minutia because my life is just not all that fascinating. Rather, I'll be using this public forum to keep myself focused and I invite my friends, old and new, to share the journey.

Here's a favorite quote of mine that captures the spirit of this venture:
Autobiography in Five Chapters
The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying. - Sogyal Rinpoche.

I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk
I fall in.
I am lost . . . I am hopeless.
It isn't my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don't see it.
I fall in again.
I can't believe I'm in the same place.
But it isn't my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it is there.
I still fall in . . . it's a habit
My eyes are open
I know where I am
It is my fault.
I get out immediately.

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk
I walk around it

I walk down another street.

So, let's look out for the holes together and have some fun along the way!
